Boost Your Nutritional Intake the Easy Way

Happy Sunday-after-Thanksgiving!

I hope you had a great holiday and a restful weekend. Did you enjoy all the extra food and treats? Could you use a little something to replace some nutrients you may have missed while you were celebrating? Would you like to boost your nutrition going into a new week? Are you looking for an easy way to add some extra nutrient-dense food to your dietary intake?
I used to juice all the time but got away from it simply because it was time-consuming and expensive (and I hated wasting all of the nutritious fruit and vegetable pulp). The time it took to prep the fruit and veggies plus the extensive clean-up after juicing made it so that I was really only juicing on days off. Batching and saving the juice wasn’t a viable solution either because as the juice sat it lost some, if not most, of its nutritional integrity.
There’s an easier way-use a blender!
By using a blender, we’re able to boost our nutritional intake in a simple way. As opposed to juicing where the juice is separated from the pulp, blending fruits and vegetables adds fiber to your diet. An easy way to get your daily servings!
Here are a couple of nutrient-dense recipes for your blender to get you started…

Cool Honeydew 🍈 Cleanser

2 inch piece peeled cucumber, cut in half
1/2 cup fresh honeydew melon chunks
1/2 cup fresh pineapple chunks
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup ice
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend to desired consistency.

Lean Green 🥬

1/2 small ripe banana
1/4 cup packed baby spinach
1/4 cup packed kale leaves
1/4 cup fresh pineapple chunks
1/4 cup fresh mango chunks
1/4 cup coconut water
1/4 cup ice
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend to desired consistency.

Orange 🍊 You Glad I’m Bananas 🍌

1/2 orange, peeled
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 small frozen banana, cut in half
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend to desired consistency.
If you don’t have all of the items on hand just use what you have.
Enjoy!
