What is a Health and Wellness Coach?

More and more people are seeking out coaches to help identify, guide and support their individual health and wellness goals, but what is a health and wellness coach and what can one do for you?

Health and wellness coaches are trained in behavior and motivation. They provide guidance and support to clients who are seeking to improve their well-being and they provide them with the knowledge, skills & motivation to make lasting changes that build a healthy and vibrant lifestyle.

This can include nutrition approaches, fitness/activity plans, stress management protocol and broader lifestyle adjustments that will help clients reach their wellness goals.

The most effective coaches motivate, support and demonstrate unconditional positive regard for their clients and believe in their capacity to change.

As with any coach, a health and wellness coach provides strategies and perspectives to help unlock a client’s most valuable potential. A health and wellness coach does not provide answers to problems directly, but rather they work with their client to explore issues together to find solutions and work toward individual goals.

As a certified health and wellness coach, I help my client identify personal health and wellness struggles and then work together with them to find the root cause of the issue. We determine factors that affect their success, and create manageable actions that can be taken to gain control over their challenges. Together, we design a plan that will effectively lead to success.

As a coach, I cover personal elements that contribute to healthy living. My main objective as a health and wellness coach is to work with my client to effectively come up with strategies that will improve all aspects of their life. We focus attention on four distinct areas: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

We concentrate on working together to establish long-term physical fitness and health goals.

We might work to address a specific condition, or target a range of issues. For example, help to lose weight, or build habits which move them toward a healthy and thriving physical body.

As a health and wellness coach, I help clients alter unhealthy behaviors and provide them with strategies that will divert them from living an inactive or sedentary life. My number one priority is habit change that corresponds to a healthy lifestyle.

I assist clients in resolving issues such as:
